Pre-race routine:

Well as this was a family outing the usual stressful getting everyone ready and out the door thing. Breakfast did, off course, include a banana...
Event warmup:

Jigged about a bit in the suit to the Gorilla Samba Troupe.

Let me tell ya. It's tough running in a Gorilla Costume. Sweaty, sweaty, sweaty. I did run all of it though and kept my mask on. Fool! Quite a bit of waiting at the steps of Tower Bridge, but after that it opened up ok. Had fun scaring onlookers with some top notch Gorilla antics and got lots of high fives and encouragement from onlookers. Also stopped to pose for pictures with some tourists.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing.

Had a bottle of water and some bananas.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Teh Gorilla Costume. Doh!

Event comments:

This was great fun. I'll be doing it again. Sandra also wants to do it, so maybe well take the kids and be a whole Gorilla family next year.
