I am not into the show that much but the wife tells me everything that happens. Her and her girlfriend watch it together religiously. Her girlfriend is into the twighlight series and after talking to them both I have come to the conclusion that Sam is a Werewolf, present to balance the power of the vampires and humans and will start becoming an even more important role.

Thoughts?

They pretty much revealed last night that Sam is, at the very least, a shape changer who can take the form of a dog.  Whether there is more to it then that I do not know.  The dog is not a very scary or intimidating one, so based on Bill's statement that Sam is the only one who can protect Sookie in his absence, I suspect there may be more to it then that.

I suppose it'd be easy to research the books the show is based on to findout the answer, but I'm enjoying not knowing all the answers too much!

I was on the fence on this series after the first 3-4 episodes, but am now fully hooked and stoked for the last 3 episodes of this season.

Best line " You have Vampire in your cleavage" -

Not hooked on the show but do find it a good way to pass away an hour on a Sunday evening

Love the show....I believe Sam is a Shapeshifter and not necessarily a werewolf.  I don't want to say more.  I havn't read the books, but I read a few synopsis of them and there is more information...I am not sure how close to the books they are going to play it.

I am really loving this series.

I don't think Sam is the dog. In one of the first episodes (I think it was the one where bill killed the guy and girl that really beat the crap out of Sookie), Sam was on his porch and threw a ball for the dog. Unless I have a couple characters confused.......

No, I think that's been discussed in other posts.   In the scene you refer to Sam greats the dog by saying "Hello, my brother!" then tosses a ball or something.  Looked like the same dog, but who is to say it was?  More likely another dog or it was literally his "brother."  Looks like we will find out for sure next episode!

Anyone else think the new girlfriend that Jason has is the killer? It all adds up if you think about it. Looking for a showdown between him and her if her continues his budding friendship with the vampire in his basement. Can't wait to see how Sam is going to explain his "situation" to Sookie.

I told Rickey that same thing while watching the episode...
