Run
Comments: I ran a slower pace the first two miles to let the crowd thin out. At about 2.5 miles I found two guys in Fleet Feet uniforms running at a nice pace between 7:40 and 8:00 miles. I just paced off of these two guys, so I wouldn't have to keep checking my pace on the Garmin. As we got close to the turn around I could see a bunch of people were hurting. I knew I would pass several people on the return trip, final count was 34. Anyway at mile 7 one of my rabbits took off and I moved up to talk to the other tunner. We had a good conversation until mile 10 when we caught his previous running mate and it was time for me to up the pace. Any way last 3.1 miles were at 7:27/ mile pace. Finished 1:42:37, alot faster than my 1:47:00 goal. What would you do differently?: Nothing ran a nice smooth pace. Post race
Warm down: Walked around, ate a banana and stretched. Talked to two guys I played ball with in High School. Then headed out to run in with Mike, who had a very interesting day. What limited your ability to perform faster: Nothing, beat my goal time by almost four and a half minutes. Event comments: Huntsville Track Club puts on very good races. You got a mostly closed course, a long sleeve tech shirt and a finishers medal all for $13.00. I plan on doing this race again next year. Last updated: 2008-08-18 12:00 AM

Up at 0500 to eat and shower. Rogillio(Mike) picked me up at 0615. Then we picked up one of mike's friends and off to the race.
Picked up my packet, and took a short jog in my warm-ups to get loosened up/ They had a nice ceremony to honor some Marines that were injuries in combat.
