I've just renewed for another 6 months but did think long and hard before doing so, I even trialled some other logs. When I thought about it I realised there's three things I dislike about BT:

1. The glacial rate of progress on adding new features. There's been no shortage of suggestions from the community but a lack of feedback on what's happening on implementation. The last sticky thread I found when I last looked was a couple of years old. How about running through the current development plan now there's a full time programmer? I don't even own an iPhone but seeing the suggestion to write a BT iPhone app dismissed in another thread made me sad.

2. Something in the site eats memory and CPU. I like to leave BT open in a tab in Firefox, and I leave FF open all the time but after a while have to restart FF. This doesn't happen when I don't load BT. I'm guessing it's the Java chart plugin?

3. The design. It's sooo grey. It reminds me of the early days of the web. The graphics are fuzzy (both the toolbar and spot graphics - at the moment there's an awful resized 'Training Q&A' photo on the top of this page, blocky text over a photo of something unrecognizable . Compare ths with http://www.mapmyrun.com- clean, sharp lines,a white a blue scheme, a professional look (and an iPhone app..). I'd love it if a decent graphics designer could be consulted.

In the end I stayed here for a few reasons (a) inertia - I'm used to how the logging works here, and my last year of data is entered here, (b) I didn't find another site that was good enough to make switching worthwhile (though some were close), and (c) I like the plans and being able to import them into the log to do actual v planned.

My wish? Get some VC to invest in the site, employ a designer and programmer and start on BT 2.0.

Just my $0.02.

You are correct.  Not a whole lot of new features this year.  We had to redo our backend to pave the way for future stuff earlier this year, Garmin interfacing was a big project-but it is what a lot of people wanted.  Another HUGE project - our biggest ever is almost done regarding custom training plans...it's in the testing phase and slated to go live early in the New Year.  For referance, most 'new features' take about a month to create, test and go live...this one will have taken about 8 months at least.  It's that big but it is the future.

The current site template is stale...probably 3-5 years old.  That being said, the NEW BT is in the testing phase too right now...and should be open to user testing in a month or so to then go live early in the New Year.  2 separate graphic designers were used to create the new site.  It's sweeeeettttt.  Plus there will be many enhancements...not just a new skin.

Essentially this year we have been doing things to get ready for the next 5 yrs...after these big projects are done, it will pave the way for a lot more smaller-medium sized new features on a more frequent pace.

To go along with that is there any plan to make something that deals with intervals.

 (# intervals)  (distance) (time) (rest)

and a choice if your doing a ladder

(Interval 1) (distance) (time) (rest)

(Interval 2) (distance) (time) (rest)

(Interval 3) (distance) (time) (rest)

xcrunner2010: yes there are plans for intervals etc. It's going to part of another feature that we have in mind so I can't give more details or a date to expect it. It's going to depend on a few other things.

2009? 10 or before 2015, hopefully before 2020.  IF not before today 12 years from now I will stop posting on this site.

I think I know what mike is talking about, but he is not talking about what you are talking about...though they are related.

Yes, in the training plan creator there will be plenty of 'interval' workouts to certain HR zones.
