Comments: Ugh...5Ks hurt. This was a PR for me by 3 seconds though...wasn't expecting that post-IM. The hill hurts a bit, but knowing the course means you know when to push. What would you do differently?: Forgot to charge my Garmin, so the batteries died on me...had to do the race old school...  Post race
Warm down: Walked around for a bit, then went to the church basement for freshly baked sugar cookies and to check out the results. What limited your ability to perform faster: Only running 2x since IMFL, no speedwork in the last 2 years...but really, this was a great time! Event comments: Good little race...they always have good warm weather giveaways instead of a T-shirt. This year was an embroidered fleece headband. Love this course and the fact that there are tons of spectators since it's right before a parade. Doing this run in the evening with all the Christmas lights out puts you in the holiday mood! A little Black Friday shopping with a wake up of 4am and some leftover turkey dinner.
Did a warmup of about 15 minutes on the course...figured out where the big hill was and did a few pickups to get the blood flowing.
