Pre-race routine:

Got up early, I really wanted to sleep in as this was my only day off in about 4 weeks. Now that's dedication.
Ate my usual oatmeal and banana.

Event warmup:

Warmed up with the wife in the back of the mini!
Stretched. walked around, I almost forgot my seeding card.

Comments:

All of this for 20 bucks. History and party like atmosphere make it one of the best races around. Where else can you run with about 11,000 of your closest friends.

Focused too much on the crowds, but who cares.

Course:	1st mile was easy, It really helps to obtain a seeding card to line up near the front, It's really your only shot at a pr. The 1st to 2nd mile is all up hill, It can be humbling if you are not ready for it. Once the hill crests past Highland market You can really put the pedal to the metal and fly down Porter st. This is one of the best races around, the crowds, the party and the smell of beer in the morning!! The turn onto Main St is spectacular with the huge American flag hanging down between 2 ladder trucks.

I remember watching that race as a kid growing up.....definitely a huge part of my Thanksgiving memories through high school----nice race and I"m not surprised you were "sucked" in by the crowd!!!
