I've been in the pool a couple of times, but I keep forgetting that I find out what my current half mile time is.     My next time in the pool is Thursday night, but it is a Master's workout.  Maybe I could do the first half of my workout with masters, take a little break, and then do the half mile.

I had Day 2 of the side kicking balance drills from TriSwimCoach.  I felt much better on my right side.  Whether this will translate into achieving my goal in this challenge remains to be seen.  I am not doing any swimming right now.  Just drill work.

How is everyone else doing with their plans to achieve their goals?

He's making me turn on the speed for shorter sets and today was near puke level on 8x25's.  The other day was tight intervals on 50's (10x50 @1:20)  Glad I was in the "slow"  lane that day...the "fast" lane did them on :45

I don't know if I will be able to meet my goal of 1500 meters within 34 mins. I think it may be more like 40 mins..but the point being doing it continuously without breaks so that will be a first.

500 yrds. would like to see in the low 6 min range.

currently at 6:36

get in the pool 15-20k per week, see if i can find some coaching.
drop the rest intervals on all harder sets. possibly join a masters team.

pretty much self taught swimmer, been swimming just about 3 years now (all for triathlon). deff still need some work though, so hopefully this will get me there. in thep ast i have been bad about total yardage, and this should help me keep it up!

Toadys goal was 16x100 @2:20...made it half way through and knew it wasn't going to happen for the rest.  So I made the other half 4x200's on a moderate to fast cruise.

Well, I've reached my goal of reducing the number of strokes down to 17-20 per 25 yds. Now I need to work on maintaining that stroke rate at 100+ yds.

Well, I did an entire month of drills  Might start actual swimming next month and see if the drills did me any good.

This has been awesome.  I continually find ways to work harder on the swim.  Thanks for the push!

I hope everyone has been working hard towards their goals.  My goal was to swim 100 meters in under 2:30.  I started out at about 2:50.  I did a month of drills and now am swimming.  This morning I only timed two of my 100's and one was 2:35 and the other was 2:34.  I just might make this challenge.  Got my fingers crossed, which might hamper my swim.  Happy swimming to all!

There are only a few more days until March 8 and the end of this challenge.  I have to say that I personally worked very hard at this one, but I don't think I am going to quite make it.  My goal was to do 100 meters in 2:30.  One day I got in 2:34 and 2:35, but otherwise I seem to be at the 2:37-2:40 range.  Definitely faster than I started out, but nowhere near what I was hoping for.  I have one more swimming day before March 8 to time myself and see if I made it.  Even if I didn't, I did get faster and my technique should be better and I can continue to push myself.

How is everyone else doing?

I think my TT for 1500 yards is about a minute to 90 seconds faster today than it was when we started.  Thanks fo the idea!
