Subject: RE: Is anyone's Garmin 305 working correctly?xcrunner, Your 305 isn't actually giving you your distance run. What is happening is the unit is receiving poor quality signals inside your house or gym and using them several times a second to recalculate your position. Since the signal quality is poor, it comes up with a slightly different position each time it recalculates even though you haven't moved and it tallies the new position as movement. So, what you are getting is useless data. You would do better to turn the GPS receiver off while on the trainer or treadmill. Just don't forget to change the graph in the Training Center to 'Time' for the 'X' axis. If you leave it set for 'Distance', the graph of your heart rate will not show up. You can turn the GPS receiver off by: Press 'Mode' Select 'Settings' Select 'General' Select 'System' You will see a window that is highlighted just below 'GPS'. Hit the 'Enter' key and it will give you an option to turn the GPS receiver off. That way, your battery will last about three times as long. Greg |
