Pre-race routine:

Woke up at 0600, ate a PB sandwhich, got dressed and left the house around 6:45. Arrived at TMS by 7:15, ran everything to T area and loitered a bit. Kristy stayed in the car, so I jogged to the car talked to her for a few seconds and jogged back as my warm up. Did my usual stretch routine.
The RD was very wordy so I'm glad I did the WU and stretching before the race meeting, as soon as he finished the horn went off.

Comments:

Very nice pace for the first run.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing on this once
Transition 1
  • 01m 56s
Comments:

Did not do a flying mount, too scary right now.
What would you do differently?:

Run with the bike to the mount line.
Practice my Ts.

Comments:

A very rood ride in my opinion. I probably spent about 2 miles in aero. I need to ride in it to become more comfortable.
The second lap I let up some so as to have some for the third lap and the run.
A couple of times I slipped to the left and had a couple of other riders tell me to stay right. If ya'll were the ones and are reading this sorry.
Otherwise the new bike was great. A couple of time my neck began hurting and all I need to remember to do was to relax my shoulders.
A few times I wanted to eat the paste, but I had to tell myself to have fun and do your own race.
What would you do differently?:

Spend more time in aero.
Transition 2
  • 02m 15s
Comments:

Walked the bike in instead of running my hammys were burning some.
The cycling shoes came off easily and threw on the running shoes already tied.
What would you do differently?:

Practice my Ts.
Run
  • 22m 41s
  • 2.01 miles
  • 11m 17s  min/mile
Comments:

The first 1/4 mile my hammys were burning, but I got into it pretty quick. Every 1/2 mile I walked for 1m. Probably could have ran the whole thing, but I wanted to have some fun.
What would you do differently?:

Not walk as much.
Post race
Warm down:

Found wifey and got a kiss. Stretched out the legs.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not being used to and a little scared of the aero position.

Event comments:

Bike route needed an aid station.

Wow...look at you Mr. Speedy!!  The more time you spend in aero, the easier it gets!

You really did great out there
