Subject: What I've missed about CoJ

I think I've finally figured it out. It's the well-played threadjack.

Used to be, someone started a serious thread and some yahoo would sweep in, make a related but direction-changing comment, and before you knew it a thread about lent would devolve into a pie discussion full of nonsense. Hypothetically speaking.

It's not unlike the TANs, I guess, but the threadjacks were more spontaneous. Whereas TAN is like scheduled sex with your mate, threadjacks were serendipitous. An unexpected bend-you-over-the-kitchen-counter quickie, if you will. And therefore infinitely more satisfying.

So, in the spirit of BT past, I declare tomorrow, February 27 Threadjack Friday.

Have at it...

I'm thinking that the REAL hijack is the money promised to bail out the gas guzzling US auto makers.

Have at it...

A. TMI about your personal preferences

B. Isn't what you're proposing more akin to the scheduled sex. And as a hijack, more akin to a scheduled rape?  And again, TMI...

Thread jacking is cool and all, but I miss the "add to my story" threads:

Dick Turbin watched her walk into his office over his cheap desk and even cheaper bottle of booze. Her legs we longer than rush hour when you're about to run out of gas. Her lips looked like pillows and Dick was ready for nighty-night. Yeah, the was a tall drink of scotch, alright.

She looked him up and down the way an old woman would cross a busy street: with suspicion and doubt, and just a little bit of challenge. Oh year, he felt that challenge all the way his little piggies, and the market too. It was a look that said she could take all of him without a second thought, and then some. Yeah, she was a bundle of cliches no matter how Dick diced her up, and he diced her up ten ways from Sunday, and some on Saturday too.

"Can I help you?" he said, knowing it was a mistake, knowing he should run the milk man when his deliveries go a little long and a certain someone comes home from work early. head down and fast, and forget about the clothers.

His intuition proved true when she said....

About the same here... California's transportation budget from the federal gov't just doubled to $7 billion with the ARRA... and we get to administer it from our office of 60 people. Surprised

Better cash that check as soon as you can.

Speaking of boring.... I'm trying to dig my own water well and I'm using a post hole digger. Does anyone know a better way bore oneself a water well? I figure I need to go down at least 140 feet.
