Comments: Started to snow (lake effect) few hours prior to race. The wind was swirling at 15-20mph. Bad footing, a fridgid cold morning (+6F windchill)made for an interesting run. Its' too bad, because despite the conditions, i ran very well. First mile was 6:19 - 2nd @ 6:09 and 3rd @ 6:26. The majority of 3rd mile was into the wind. I was competetive and ran smart, not going out too fast and careful at the corners What would you do differently?: Not much. I feel i trained welll for this race, the cold, snow and wind was a big factor in overall time, but we all run in the same conditions and i did well ![]() Post race
Warm down: Went inside building for post race party - went throguh the line for snacks (the whole idea behind the race), changed shoes and put on warm-up clothes then went back out on course to find Aimee. We ran the last 1/2 Mile together. What limited your ability to perform faster: the snow, slippery streets and howling winds Event comments: Race used 'disposable timing chips' they had a computer inside that would print personal results. That was cool. This is a well organized race and has been enjoyable in the past. I think it was 2002 it was about 60F out. I recommend it as a good race to run early in season. Never sure of waht kind of weather. Last updated: 2009-03-01 12:00 AM

Parked - got race packet - talked about post race meeting. Decided on what layers to wear, talked with some friends and relaxed
30 minutes prior to race, went out and jogged the last 1/4 mile
10 minutes prior to race - did some strides, thought about the weather, went over race-plan in my head, stretched and some more strides
