Pre-race routine:

Got up early and made waffles with my daughter. Didn't have any but it is always fun to bake with her. :) Headed over to the race site and just relaxed.

Event warmup:

I've been struggling the last few days with allergies. My sinuses are killing me and I almost had someone else race for me. But I sucked it up. It's only 3 miles. :)

Comments:

I tried to just run for fun. First mile was 8:11 then I hit the wind and was right around 9:00 for the second mile. I tried to watch my HR and just make sure I didn't over do it. I think I did a good job keeping myself in check.

What would you do differently?:

This is one of four races I signed up for. They are fun, but not the same as a tri.
