Run
Comments: I ran way to quick, although I think it must be quite short of 5mi. My plan was to try and run a comfortable 33min. I felt pretty solid and not all out, but definately to quick for what I had ahead. What would you do differently?: maybe hold back a little Transition 1
Comments: transition was not to eventful, and went smooth. I had to stop to clip in. What would you do differently?: not much, possible learn to do transitions with shoes on pedals. Bike
Comments: I started most prob a little quick, because I just totally lost my legs at mile 16. With wind and rolling hills it made for a very long ride. Towards the end I was getting serious pain in my inner thigh/groin muscle and also my upper hamstrings. What would you do differently?: Ignore police officers who give directions while on their cell phones. Spend lots more time on the bike. Maybe adjust my saddle. Drink more fluids. Transition 2
Comments: coming in to transition from wrong direction I was only able to get 1 shoes off and so I had to dismount and then tak ethe other one off and carry it. What would you do differently?: not much Run
Comments: felt like I was walking because of the groin/hammy issue on the bike. eventally got going and just sort of tried to take it easy on the ups and cruise the downs. Post race
Warm down: hobbled around What limited your ability to perform faster: totally not in any shape to do this race. I got talked into it 3 days prior and it showed on the bike. I was happy with runs although I have a hard time believing that they were 5mi. The bike was a big limiter and having to really fight for half of it just to get to the finish was not good. WOW I need to get better on the bike. Event comments: It all seemed good except for being sent the wrong way. I was not alone and people who were ahead of me ended up behind me, so my position is iffy as well. Also I never got a shirt which I was meant to, but oh well. Last updated: 2009-03-19 12:00 AM
