(It's about the only thing I like about biking.) If you want indexing it's important that the rear shifter/deraileur combo index match. If you already have a shimano rear deraileur then I would say find a shimano (or shimano compatible) shifter. I don't think campy and shimano are interchangeable in this regard. IMHO the front match doesn't matter much because you're not indexing. (If you have 3 front rings I have no idea if this still applies). Be aware that depending upon your frame size and bar setup, the shift cables that come with the standard shimano DA shifters may or may not make it to the rear deraileur when mounted on the end of long aero bars. (Mine had about 1/4" to spare) |
