I thought this article was worth mentioning, as it's a testament to the type of person you'll find in the endurance community

If you don't have time for the full article, the gyst is this ultrarunner is an elementary teacher who works a cross walk in the mornings.  A car ran a stop sign and he jumped in front of it to knock a mother and two kids out of the way. He suffered compound fractures in his tibia and fibula just inches above his ankle.  He's already had surgery, and will probably have more in the coming weeks.

The article mentions he's a runner of marathons, but he's also big in the ultra community.  Keep him in your thoughts.
