Hi everyone,

I want to ask you for a favor. I am riding in my 6th MS 150 to raise money for the National MS Society, and want to ask you to donate a mere $1 to help me go the distance for this great organization.

Here is the link for the secure online e-pledge website and enter my name: Michael Augustine and state: Massachusetts to pledge. Please help me reach my fundraising goal this year and I hope you have a great race season! See you on the course.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Warmest Regards,
Michael

Pledge: https://www.nationalmssociety.org/MAM/home/epledge_search_1.asp

While your there, take a moment to check out my personal website as well as my Team's. I am still looking for riders to participate in this event so if you're in MA and want to ride with a great bunch of riders, please contact me.

I wish, so much, that the MS Society sponsored a Tri. There are some non-profits that do a big ski event out here in Colorado, but a tri would be even better.

Not to hijack or siidetrack the thread from Michael's wonderful effort and goal, but...

If you're looking for a charity that DOES triathlons, check out the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Team in Training at www.teamintraining.org

Hey Bear,

I have been getting their info this season, and I am thinking about trying that next year. What are their fundraising goals?

mlaugustine - 2005-04-09 7:37 AM Hey Bear, I have been getting their info this season, and I am thinking about trying that next year. What are their fundraising goals?

Depends on what event you do. Last year or so our fundraising goals ranged from $1800 (local N.O. marathon) to $4500 (Anchorage Marathon.) Reason for the difference is that your airfare and accomodations (among many other things) are provided for you.

These goals may seem a little steep at first, but the organization provides a ton of support, and most of our participants are surprised, even overwhelmed at the responses.

Contact your local chapter or PM me if you have any specific questions. Check into it now because we are starting (over the nest three weeks) to recruit for the fall season.

Bump II to keep this in sight. Thanks to all of you who have pledged and helped me get even loser to my fund raising goal. I say again, this really is a great community.

I have secured a sponsor for my team as well (A local pub) and may have gotten Red Bull in our area to talk to the people at MS to get in on the overall sponsorship for this years tour!

It feels great to help others!

OK, Bump Three! Next weekend is the big ride, and I am so PSYCHED! I want send out a huge THANK YOU to those of you that helped out the National MS Society by sponsoring me on my team's efforts in this year's MS New England Great Mass Getaway.

You have done a great service in helping to not only fund research and get closer to eliminating this horrible disease, but also help out in the lives those of those who suffer from its effects everyday.

By donating to this cause, you have put yourself in the shoes of people who will never know the thrill of crossing that finish line and hopefully give them that opportunity one day.

Sincerely,
Michael

No more plugs for the MS 150 in Boston! Just a huge thanks for helping out my team, who raised over $10,000 for the cause! You guys are awesome.
