Extreme Veteran  744    Ontario |  Subject: Essex county group ride April 18thIt looks like Saturday is going to be beautiful, so I was wondering if anyone would like to join me for a ride? I suggest that we meet on Saturday at 2:00 at the Cedar Creek Beach parking lot on county road 50 and ride west from there along lake Erie. Cedar Creek has lots of parking, and hopefully the bathrooms and changing areas are unlocked. The beach is maybe 5 km west of Kingsville, and if you take McCain road south from county road 20 it runs right into the beach. This is where Tracy, Tim, Rob, Shawna and myself did most of our open water swim practices last summer. The ride west of there is mostly flat, although we can find a few hills if you like, with no stop signs, nice pavement, and little traffic. Dave |

Extreme Veteran 744 Ontario | Subject: RE: Essex county group ride April 18th Could we get directions? From the Chatham area take the highway 77 exit off the 401 and drive into Leamington. Turn right at the last lights before the lake and drive county road 20 to Kingsville. Drive through Kingsville and take the first left, which is McCain road. Drive south to the lake and Cedar Creek Beach is right where the road hits the lake and turns west (just over the bridge). From Windsor or Essex turn south off of highway 3 at Essex onto Arner road. Drive south to county road 20 and turn left. Drive about 4 km and then turn right onto McCain and then south to the lake. From A'berg take county road 20 going east and about 12 km past Harrow you turn south onto McCain. Looking forward to meeting you Stef and chatting about Steelhead. The countdown to Steelhead in your signature line is starting to freak me out as I'm in awful shape and have still not booked a room. Dave |
