LOL! I don't think I have ever been dubbed a fast runner! I am planning on going around 8 or 8:30 AM. Likely will do two bike loops and 1 to 2 run loops.

I'd be down for all that, let me know what time and i will meet you in that office park where we park on race day. I may even go back Sunday evening depending on the weather to do the OWS.

I may call the RD to see if I can SBR the course Thursday or Friday around 6 if anyone is interested.  Should be light to 8-830, so there shouldn't be a problem.  This is a C race for me so the race itself is jsut a hard training day.

May wife and kids will be out of town so if anyone is up for some post race festivities I am game.

Met Jon (vrljc) today at the office park up there and we did two loops of the bike course, the roads are very heavily traveled at the time of the day we did the ride (11:00am) and even though my bike has come a long way he coulda just dropped me anytime he wanted (but was nice enough to wait up). Neat fast rolling hill course, that hairpin is friggin scary!!! Some of the roads are still a bit rough from the winter.

We plan on meeting tommorrow night to do an OWS and Wednesday night also (i have a dentist appointment and am leaving work early) i do not think i can get back up there again during the week (maybe friday) but i wont know till later in the week.

1 week to go!!!

That was a good ride!.....minus the stupid traffic on that one road. The weather turned out to be perfect with the slight overcast and no sun.

I did the run 2X. My Garmin came out to be 2.9 miles/loop and usually it measures long. I did the first loop in 24 mins and the 2nd in ~22 mins, which is way too fast for me going medium speed on a 5K....so i'm going with the run course is a tad short, which is fine.

I'll be up there Sunday and Wed night @ 6 for the OWS.

FYI - beach was shut tonight (Sun) due to Tornado Warning. Lifeguard (somewhat stressed who had turned away "about 100 triathletes" said that they will open it up from 5pm Memorial Day Monday).

I am heading over there on my way home tonight (Wed) for a swim and maybe a run. Anyone going? Water was pleasant on Monday night - sleeveless wetsuit was fine for me. A nice treat to be able to swim there pre-race.

Rudy and I hit up the swim tonight. That was the best OWS I have EVER done. That swim is incredible! I wish they could leave the bouys up all season.

The water temp was in the mid 60's? Maybe a tad warmer?

the water temp was perfect, i swam with a sleeveless wettie and was really comfy. the bike is like a roller coaster ride it goes up and down so much, it is not even funny and do listen to the marshalls and be careful on the downhill hairpin, it is a nasty nasty corner. I have not done the run yet, wont till the day of the race, i do not run well, so why depress myself after having so much fun on the swim and bike course!!

see ya Sunday!!!

Swim: Water has been cooling down a little this week with the rain. Monday was nice, Wednesday still in the sleeveless was chilly at first but no problems once swimming. I am hoping to go tonight (Fri) or take a dip tomorrow just to check as really prefer to wear the sleeveless. Watch out for loose stones in the parking lot when running into T1.

Bike: There is a slight rise immediately out of the TA to go across Rte 7 so be sure you have sorted out your shoes. From there it basically undulates and winds it's way up to Pope's Corner (the tight corner). The corner can be taken at some speed if cornered correctly, although don;t cross the yellow line, the problem is the run out - it is narrow and windy and slower traffic is very hard to pass so be prepared to slow more on the run out. Then from the corner it's downhill or flat with a few undulations to keep you honest. Nice course. Watch out for runners going out when you are coming in on the final mile of the bike.

Run: Run is undulating/uphill for the first 2 miles and then gradually downhill and flat for the last mile. Think of it as working hard for 2 miles and hanging on/turning your legs over for 1 mile and you'll be fine. First/last half mile or so of bike course is the first/last half mile of the run.

TA entry is a bit tight and it got a bit "busy" last year although I have heard that they have worked hard to improve the traffic flow this year.

Should be fun.

Oh, and also, if it's sunny on Sunday a.m. you'll have sun glare in your eyes on the swim out if you breath to the R. Is that good enough JSklarz?

With kirsten's prerace lo-downs and rudy's scheduling, its like we have our own support team
I'll have a shoreline sharks jersey on and be asleep behind my bike.
Beer will be on ice at T3... likely a wheat beer as it will be morning.
