Pre-race routine:

Arrived with the family and checked in.

Event warmup:

Did some light stretching and jogging. Waited around with family and friends for the race to start.

Comments:

Ran with Clayton as this was his first 5K I think. Started a little fast but tried to slow down. We did great on the run up the hill on the way out. Gravel was fun as usual. Grabbed a cup of water at the turnaround. Run back in was nice. We held a good steady pace. Had a couple of short walk breaks after the hill on the way back. Ran hard to the finish.

What would you do differently?:

Maybe try and pull Clayton back a little at the beginning to make it to the end. Was really happy with his run. Felt really good for me too, pacing felt great. Wish I could keep this pace at Kansas.

Warm down:

Walked around and talked with friends and family. Watched Justin come in. He looked really good.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Nothing. Ran with Clayton.
