Age Group Rank = 2/50
Pre-race routine:

note: results were updated 6/15

i threw the pre race routine out the window and just had a relaxing pre race.
Event warmup:

i ran about 1.5 miles basically getting ready.
Swim
  • 15m 7s
  • 880 yards
  • 01m 43s / 100 yards
Comments:

a few swimmers ahead of me did completely unrealistic times (wrong wave/bad chip reading) - i wish race organizers / timing cos could get these things straight.

i felt better this time than previous swims. having new goggles that i can see out of helped!
What would you do differently?:

this was good for the amount i trained. i will improve
Transition 1
  • 01m 10s
Comments:

i had such a short run to mount that i decided to run in the biking shoes for a change - i think it was the right choice.
Bike
  • 51m 11s
  • 18.6 miles
  • 21.80 mile/hr
Comments:

i felt faster today. i think the bike is in about the right set up now.
What would you do differently?:

carry a little les fluid for a sprint, check my bike better pre race (i discovered my seat was very loose was loose when it i cleaned up after the race)
Transition 2
  • 01m 7s
Comments:

i really want some zoots tri shoes

i forgot to put on my number belt - whoops.
Run
  • 20m 47s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 06m 41s  min/mile
Comments:

i wore sunglasses as an experiment to see if i liked it. i'm saying no to glasses for now.

i love the run - pass pass pass
Post race
Warm down:

ran about a half mile biked 1.5 swam 50 meters - a super relaxed mini tri!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

i trained through this race so not being rested affected me but i don't think much.

Event comments:

the good - small swim waves, an army of volunteers, fast results posting, well organized, great weather

the bad
- i don't think bike out and in the same port is equitable (though in this race it worked to my advantage)
-some of the results are inaccurate

Nice race.  It still looks like the results have a wrong finisher in 3rd position.  When I checked it was a female without a swim time.

It never even dawned on me until read your report that the bike in and out of the same side was indeed unfair.  I was the rack closest to the exit so I benefited greatly (I guess you were pretty close too).

I take be the "greatly" comment.  I guess everyone had to transverse the T zone twicee, it is just the we did the least amount with the bike, which is only a small benefit not a great one.

the 3rd place is prob right.  her swim and bike time may be added together - she was the collegiate national champion last year.  she's a bad a**.

NICE JOB IN THE DU.
