Subject: Muddy Buddy

Anyone here doing the Muddy Buddy this Saturday?  This will be my 1st muddy buddy.  My buddy and I are dressing up like Mario and Luigi (Just missing the hat and mustache).

Andy any idea what the course layout will be and other info?  Will it be a double track or single track?  Does everyone start at once or in waves like a triathlon?  What kind of obstacles should I expect?  Any other info I should know.

I'm really excited about this race and it looks like a blast.  Well minus the run part.

My muddy buddy plans were decimated.  My buddy's mom went in the hospital yesterday.

I've made other plans for the weekend.

hey man,
Doing muddy buddy for the first time too.  Here is the course I mapped out on Mapmyride.com:
http://www.mapmyride.com/route/united-states/ga/conyers/611124456165073109

My buddy and I are Team Skidmarks.  Think we are just going to wear a-shirts (for lack of a better phrase to all you ladies out there)  and put some skidmarks on our shirts with mud, you get the idea.  Not too creative, but make a couple people laugh hopefully.

Should be a fun ride, see you out there in the mass of 2,000 people.

Cheers,

- Brent

Did anyone else get confusing emails?

My buddy got one (and I believe I did too but can't find it) that was sent on Wednesday and said to show up to REI Perimeter "tommorow" which is today.  So my buddy and I drove out from Buford through rush hour traffic to do nothing but fail.  My buddy checked the email on his phone and it confirmed it.

Then i noticed in one of the emails it said to show up to REI Atlanta for packet and then gave the Perimeter address.

Anyone know what's going on tommorow (Friday)?

It is the Perimeter Address.  Kind of like how they call the Muddy Buddy "Atlanta", yet it really falls into Conyers, well outside of the perimeter.

Was quite confusing though!  You can pick up your packet today until 7pm, or tomorrow starting at 6:30 I believe.

I thought it was awesome.  It was a lot tougher than I thought but that was mainly to me trying to figure out my buddy's Sram components vs my Shimano components on my bike which are backwards anyways.  I'd come up to a hill and try to shift down and end up popping it into 3/6 and then have to push that bad boy.

Plus how can you not love 2 free beers (though we found a way to beat the system) at 8:30 in the morning!!!  Actually you can.  You have have 2 free beers in the morning and watch the women teams go through the mud pit!!!

Yea dude, we jumped over the fence, ripped off our wristbands, and acquired two more beer tickets.  I just wanted to make sure that we got our calories back. I mean I did do a back flop into the pit.  Can't wait to see the pics from the website.
