swim was ok. I wish i could do the whole thing without stopping and having to do breaststroke

practice OWS. I am doing that on Mondays at Belews Lake. Hope it helps. Sure is a lot less boring than swimming in the pool

my bike fitness is not as strong as last year. I am pleased I could ride up all the hills. My bike time was 5 minutes slower than last year

spend more time on the bike . I think I need to do long rides with plenty of hills

I could not get moving. I think the bike took everything out of me. It was worst 5k in a triathlon. My nutrition may have been a factor since I did not eat a GU like i usually do.Heat was bad but no worse than last year. This year my time was 10 minutes slower. That is a lot on a 5k.

I am not sure. My wife reminded me I was a year older! Maybe that is it.

The best part of the race was hearing the story about Marisa. She had the potential to finish as the top female. But during the swim part she rescued an injured swimmer who was close to drowning because of being kicked. The swimmer just happened to be one of the two friends with whom she came to the race. Her friend recovered and was able to finish the race. In fact,all three of them did the run part together. Marisa finished middle of the pack but in my mind was the real winner and a true hero.
