Subject: Back by popular demand-another 56 or 112 mile ride!Due to the overwhelming success of our last ride in May, there is interest in another semi-organized century ride. Here are the details. The date of the ride is July 25. Once again we’ll meet at Alum Creek beach and ride the Fat Rabbit HIM course. Again, you may ride one loop (56 miles) or two (112 miles). We’ll meet at 7:30 and get started at 8:00am, sharp. Once again, this is a self supported century ride. Bring all of your nutrition and fluids with you on the ride. There is no place stop and get water during the ride. We will stop back at the beach for 15-20 minutes to give people a chance to refill water bottles and use the bathroom. On our last ride the first loop took us just over three hours to complete. That’s a pace of 18MPH. We were able to achieve this by taking turns pulling the peloton. Assume that we’ll be traveling at a similar speed for this ride. Drafting is expected and encouraged. This ride is scheduled three weeks out from the Great Buckeye Challenge and about 6 weeks out from the Toyota Challenge. It will be a great tune up ride for either of these races. Those who have not gone 56 or 112 miles in training yet, this will be a great opportunity to get some miles in with a group to help you along. My wife will be riding that day. So ladies, don’t think you’ll be the only female there. This ride is open to all who can make the distance. I’ll direct you to the first post in this thread to get an idea of what else to expect. http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=157978&posts=41&start=1
I hope to see you all there! Edited by David tri's 2009-06-23 9:07 PM
