Subject: training with a splinted broken nose?
has anyone ever had to train with a splint on their nose?? I had surgery to fix it yesterday and my doctor said i can't work out as long as I have the splint on (two weeks.) i'm accepting that i can't swim for the two weeks, but what about biking and running? i'm really looking for advice from someone with experience in this situation. thanks in advance.

What did your doctor suggest regarding biking and running?  He/She is the person you should be asking, not a bunch of random folks.

But, that sure doesn't sound fun.  Hope you heal quickly!

Hrm. Doc says no working out. Seems pretty cut and dried. What are you paying him/her for again?

Dude, let it heal... If you had surgery, you will feel it later in the week.

When I had my surgery it didn't bleed the first 3 days, then all of a sudden, it started bleeding on day 4 post-op, as the swelling went down. My doc gave me a strict 1 week time frame post-op, not even the indoor sporting event was allowed. Thank God hubby was 2 hours away.

Seriously dude, listen to your doc. I felt worse as the week went on. Give it time to heal... plus you won't be able to breathe properly yet. Swelling and all.
