Subject: RE: Anyone a part of a Tri Club in the Valley?riorio - 2010-04-23 6:13 AM ~ AZ Sunshine ~ - 2010-04-22 10:13 PM I've been doing research on tri clubs and found this thread. Is there a Woman's tri club in the Phoenix metro area? I saw the Tucson club. I'm a newbie Athena and I'm a little intimated to join some of these more organized clubs. (I guess I"m not too new anymore) I'm gearing up for IMAZ and need some help with motivation and training. I thought a woman's club might be less scary. The Phx Tri club have a great New2Tri program. It's co-ed but from what i hear it is very friendly and not just for complete beginners. Info is on their website I know the race has passed, but I had a friend do all the clinics etc before Tri For The Cure that were put on by Tri Scottsdale, she said the all female program was great. I dont think you should be intimidated by the guys. If you find a club in your area with rides etc that match your schedule, I say go for it This from the lady that can kick almost any guys arse on a course! But in truth most races are Co-Ed as you only compete in your Gender/age anyway it should not matter. What does matter is finding a group that can push/motivate you and that does not drop you on an unfamilur course. I can only speak as a slow dude, but almost all of the Triathletes here are easy to train with (personality wise) and most larger group rides break into several packs based upon approximate speed. |
