Comments: My goal was 4hrs. I started near the back of the line, so my chip time was 5 min. ahead of gun time. I hooked up with the 4:00hr pace bunny and was doing well for a while. I passed the 1/2M mark at 1:57 and was feeling fine. Then around the 25km mark things went wrong. Energy levels dropped and I got very cold. The 4hr pace group dissapeard in the distance as I began to take walk breaks. By the 30km mark I was suffering. At the 32km mark the 4:15 group passed me. I was now walking 50% of the time. By the 35km mark I was walking 75% of the time. I shuffled and shambled my way on to the finsh. What would you do differently?: Train - especuially longer distances. I ran my first 1/2M without ever running farther than one 10 mile race. I learned that you can't do that with the marathon - running 1 or 2 half-marathons does not prepare you for a full. It was a humbling experience but I needed this kick in the pants. When October rolls around i'll start training long distance running. Post race

Coffee & Bagel.
Pacing around the start line followed by brisk jog to porta-potties. Should not have had Taco Bell the nite before.
