So I emailed Gary Bredehoft of Tiger Coaching and Personal Training asking if he was the one who was trying to organize the HIM for Nebraska. He replied and said that he is the one. They meet with the 70.3 organization later this month and are looking at possibly Sept. of 2011. How awesome would that be for Nebraska?!

As long as the entry fee isn't $500 that would be VERY awesome for NE!

FYI- IM Kansas for next year is $210 per individual. I assume that a Nebraska 70.3 would be close to that amount as well. I know that's a lot of money but I'd rather pay that for a HIM put on by the 70.3 Organization than $150 for the Omaha Tri put on by a local group in it's first year of operation.

please keep us up to date on any ino you hear. I am done for this year, and thinking about my race schedule for next year. I was thinking about the Kansas 70.3, but I would rather support local organizers if I can race here in NE.

I agree to supporting a local race. I hope they decide soon because I will want to get registered for Kansas 70.3 in the next couple of months. I have some revenge to exact on that course.

IM Nebraksa would be for 2011 so you can go ahead and register for IM Kansas for 2010 without fear.

I registered for Kansas 70.3 yesterday, so I am committed and this will be my first attempt at that distance.  If NEB can get a HIM for 2011 I am would be interested in that.  $150 for Oly distance seems a little much.

Thought about Branson next year but I'm planning on trying to get my revenge at Kansas 70.3. I am also planning on Steelhead 70.3 since I have family in the area. It might be the only time they get to watch me race in a IM branded event. I think racing two halfs 6-8 weeks apart should be OK.

Not only will you be okay, but you should tear up Steelhead. That is a pretty flat course. You'll do great.

Lots of training to do between now and then to be successful.
