So when I work out I have a tendency to drink a ton of water, which first off I don’t know if that’s good of bad…

But the thing I am really wondering about is that I have lost quite a bit of weight in the last couple days. I weight myself every morning and on my Monday (after a weekend of drinking and not working out) I weighed 175, wasn’t very happy about that but this morning when I woke up I weighed myself and I was 168. I have NEVER lost 7 lbs in 3 days before…

So do you think this is a bad thing or do you think it I am just working off the extra weight I put on from this weekend? Do you think it could just be water weight, since I drink so many liquids during my workouts? Thoughts, please…

Water retention and shedding. Your logs show a fairly steady weight of right around 170, so a fluctuation of a few pounds either way isn't too alarming.

And why is it people are always alarmed if they LOSE 5 or 6 lbs in a day or two, but they aren't that concerned if they GAIN 5 or 6 lbs in a day or two?

I was wondering about this myself when I gained several pounds in a day after some hard fought decreases over the last week. The only variable that could account for this rapid of gain was fluid as my diet the day before my weight gain was good. All bathroom stuff very routine. Now I know there are many other daily variables that can account for several pounds in one day but... Is it possible that weight loss may be seen in the form of slight dehydration and than your body catching up on fluids? And vice versa.

here's a way to look at it, in 3 days, you probably didn't lose 7 lbs. of body fat.  so most likely it's fluid fluctuations (and hopefully a little bit of body fat if that's what you're hoping for!).   but fluid or not, 7 lb. drop on the scale in 3 days would make me smile!
