OW swim off Palm Beach this AM with our usual Saturday swim group and I got nailed maybe 10 times by jellyfish.  Twice right on the lips!  Water was crystal clear and calm, but I really could do without the electric shocks every couple hundred yards.  Anyone ever train in OW in a diveskin to minimize the jelly hits?  Or just HTFU?

I have not ops tested it yet, but there is this stuff called sea safe or safe sea...it's basically sunscreen plus something that is supposed to neutralize jellyfish stings.  Worth a shot maybe?

I feel your pain.  Well, I don't, but my wife does.  We swam in the gulf of mexico yesterday morning and she got stung on both calves pretty bad.

The lips... ouch!

Great thread title, but it's either HTFU or get out. I got stung bad across the face in some surf in Hawaii. At first I wasn't sure what it was so I turned to swim to shore (I was about 100 yds out). The sting came on real strong so I sprinted to the beach. It  was heavy surf so I had bodysurf fins on.  By the time I hit the sand my face was on fire. Luckily I was in front of my hotel so I went to my room, ate a couple of Benadryl and stuck my face in a sink full of ice for 15 minutes. Very unpleasant.

Mrs Turnin2 uses SeaSafe and it helps her with sea lice, but IDK about jellyfish/man o war stings. When I was surfing alot we used meat tenderizer for the stings and that seemed to work well.
