has anyone tried yankz, or those other curly laces (don't remember the name off the top of my head)?

I'm just going to bike in my running shoes (I don't even have clips on my bike - just cages.  First tri, I went for a hybrid, I didn't want anything too expensive), and I was thinking they would make changing faster/easier.

I'm trying to get my transition time down as much as possible, as I expect to need all the time I can get just to make it through the race!

i have lock laces. they worked out great for me in my first tri yesterday, T2 time was 24 seconds!  Easy to slip on the shoes

I have yankz! More for the fact that I have to be bent over a lot less and thus have less a chance of passing out and hitting my head than of any illusion that saving the time will bring me to a podium.

I'll put Yankz! on all my running shoes, I'm just used to them now.

Yes, Yankz will make changing into your shoes faster. Just look at the guy that posted below you...24 seconds in T2 is smokin'! I don't care if his rack was the first rack in Bike In or it was a small tri with a small transition area, that's lightning quick.

I tried Yankz for awhile and didn't really like them.  I could never get them right.  Either they were too loose and my heel slipped or they were too tight and my foot fell asleep.  I'd rather take the few extra seconds and tie my shoes to have them be right.

They are definitely worth trying, though.  Lots of people have more luck with them than I did.

Yankz are elastic and that does not work for me. My foot moves around too much. I have heard of lock laces but I use plastic toggles I picked up at local running store. Use original laces and feet do not move around.

I buy cheap cord locks at REi, $1 for a pair and put them on my laces. Cheap and works well.

Yes. Love them. My fingers don't do fiddly little things like shoelaces after riding. Problem solved.

Yankz are great.  I haven't had problems with the stretchy laces.
