Subject: Longer Distance One Piece Triathlon Suit Recommendations
Anyone have recommendations about a good one piece tri suit to use for longer distances.  I've been playing with different combinations on two piece suits, but I prefer the one piece.  The ones I have don't have a good enough chamois to stay comfortable for more than 30-40 miles.

No way would I consider a one piece suit for longer races...the likelihood of "pitstops" increases and getting the top part of a one piece suit off in a portajohn spells frustration.  Plus, I doubt a one piece suit chamois is going to be what you're looking for in longer races.  Try the Oomph Lava or Kilauea tri shorts - the Distance pad they put in them are great for HIM and IM.

x2 on the Oomph shorts, I am training for IMKY and have worn my Oomph shorts for all my long rides (80+ miles) including 2 century rides. I wear an Assos top and this setup works great for me. Good luck, Jim

I too love the Oomph tri shorts with their distance pad in them. I wear the Kilaueas for HIM or IM racing and the less expensive ones to train in.

I'd never do longer race in 1 piece suit..to many pit stops and port a potties don't want to spend extra time in them.

I wore a one piece for IMLou.... I really don't think it's a big deal to take on and off. I stopped twice to use the bathroom. I feel more comfy in a one-piece, and 14 hours of comfort is worth the extra 30-60 seconds it takes in the bathroom.

I used Zoot. I don't like a lot of padding (the more padding the more sore I get on the bike), but I like the super-soft chamois and the wide coverage area.

Thanks for the feedback.  I originally thought I wanted a two piece due to getting in and out of the one piece at  bathroom stops, but I'm finding it almost as difficult to get the shorts situated properly as it was to get the one piece on and off.  I'm using the Oomph Lava shorts.  VERY comfortable for the ride, but I can't find a shirt I'm comfortable in to go with them.  Still don't know what I'll wear for my first HIM next week, but I appreciate your input!
