Happens all the time. My buddy that just passed on was a HUGE Lakers fan. During the finals I kept getting the urge to call him but sadly I couldn’t. And now I have a chance to sit up in the owners box with Jerry Bus and he would have been the first person I would have invited, but I will toast him when I’m there.

"Sure do"!

I'd be working on a home improvement project (my Dad was a Carpenter on the side) and come to a point where I needed his advice. I'd actually call his house to talk to him. When mom answers the phone reality kicks in. "That sucks"!!!

One of my nearest and dearest was my go-to guy for computer and techie questions ... a few weeks ago I started having problems with my computer - actually typed out 3/4 of an email to him before I remembered he was gone ... a few days ago almost picked up the phone to call him to ask him a ?? about cell phones ...
And he's been gone 7 months now.

In HS my Church softball coach (we had a really fun multi-generational league) suddenly passed away of a rampant virul infection. By the time he knew he was sick it had already broken the blood/brain barrier and caused him to stroke which ended it all. Anyway the next time Softball season came around I kept trying to call his house about getting a ride to practice etc...it was a little disturbing at first but I still remember him every time I pick up a softball.

I went to cook an apple pie in the fall, and without even thinking about it, I dialed my grandmother. She died when I was in 8th grade, but I figured that if anyone would know, she would. Her dog lives with my parents, and every time I see her I think of gran in happy ways.

Yep, It has been almost three years since I lost my Mom and Dad, Dad was fifteen days after Mom, I used to talk to my dad almost every day and I spent quite a bit of time at my parents house or out in the woods with my Dad.

I still catch myself every now and then picking up my phone to call him just let him know something funny or ask his advice.

I lost 2 fraternity brothers not long after they graduated. They died from differnet illnesses. One of them was a HUGE Celtics and Patriots fan. I never had a team I was partial to in either sport, but since his passing I have rooted for his teams, now about 25 years. I think of him every time I watch the Celtics play. Miss you Mods.

I lost a friend in February, unexpectedly. We rode together, trained together, etc. I think of him often, especially when riding or I learn/read something new I think he would have been interested in. I like the others, sometimes forget that he is gone when I think "I need to tell John..."
