Thanks... but I just checked my box again... for some reason it never made it through. Thanks for keeping your routes here in BT. I will definitely go search them out
Well that makes more sense. The message isn't in my sentbox either so the site must have eaten it. Anyway, as I recall here is what I wrote:
Our bike path is great for training. I rode a 60 mile ride recently and only passed 23 people riding in my direction. I do most all of my training on the bike path as it's 12 feet wide and perfectly smooth for as many miles are you want to ride. On a busy summer weekend day, it's better to get out early when only serious riders will be out but even at noon on a busy Saturday, the riding is still great on the path.
Here are three routes from near where you'll be staying:
Frisco to Vail Pass and back

Lake Dillon loop

I recommend that you ride it clockwise so you can climb Swan Mountain on the bike path. The map above includes a detour on Hwy 6 past Dillon that's no longer necessary as there's a bike path right along the lake shore which is great.
Climb to Montezuma and back

This is mostly on a perfectly smooth low traffic/speed road.
As I said, I have almost all the Summit County rides mapped which you can find by searching on Breckenridge, Frisco, or Dillon.
Hope you have fun here! |
