I did it last year.  It's very well-organized, and HUGE.  The run is harder than you'd expect--there's a huge hill thrown in during the last mile--so be ready for that!  You can probably check out multiple race reports to learn more.  I am sure mine is enthralling.  Hehe.  Really, it's a great race and you will have fun.  I love riding on I-90!!

Good luck!

I was planning on doing it but never got around to signing up. Then I was going to sign up this weekend (if there were opening still) and I ended up injuring my knee, Docs appt tomorrow to figure out what is going on so no Seafair for me.

The ironic thing is that Seafair was the Tri that, last year, made me start training for my first one this year and now I wont do it!

Good Luck, I hear riding on I-90 can be fun on the bike (unless they changed the course due to construction.)

I swim there once to twice a week and it was not bad last week. Will be there again tomorrow night and can let you know after that. Did not swim it last summer though so nothing to compare it too.

I signed up for it!  This is my first triathlon, and DEFINITELY not going to be the last.  I don't really have any identifying marks, so... I'll at least share my story at the end!

my friend gave me a tip:  tie a balloon to your bike in the transition area because the swim might make you disoriented.

Good luck!

Hehehe...Thanks for the reminder!

last year I made a special transition marker...It is an extending yellow pole and I attached yellow pompoms to the top.  It can go up about 10 feet.  I'll bring it along.  An easy way to spot me...I will be the gal in the guy's 25-29 year old wave.     My friend is renting my a blue-seventy wetsuit.  I have a beatup blue mountain bike and will wear a light blue top and black shorts.

...the outfit in my profile pic.

mchally, why are you in the guys wave? Also swam yesterday and the water was great. My guess is it will get a degree or two warmer by race day, probably be around 68ish. The millfoil was not bad, it is long but well below the swim through it/worry level, at least where I was swimming. Good luck to everyone out there!

Well...back when I registered...

JK

My friend gave me his slot.  He had a biking incident leaving him with knee issues and broken bike.  He, being a guy, is registered for the men's wave.

I am really hoping that they let me sub in for him.  He was told that he could transfer his registration to me, but somewhere else he read that they are not allowing athlete switches.  I don't know for sure what will happen.  I will find out tomorrow at packet pickup.
