Pretty much EVERY time I put on my wetsuit, I get some small tears in it. I soaked it in water at the beginning of the season. I always put it on from the inside out and I pretty much have no nails. Yet, everytime I throw it on I need to get these 1/4" to 1/2" tears in the rubber. They don't go all the way through, and I just glue it back togehter.

Why is this happening?
Is there something I should do to "soften" the outside rubber?
Does this just happen as the suit ages?

I have a bunch of these too.  I figure that it doesn't affect how the wetsuit works and they don't show - so I'm not going to worry about them.  It's unfortunate - but I didn't pay a lot for the suit.

Thanks Silver, I appreciate it. I don't know what else to do. I think I will keep using the glue just in case I decide to grab the same place, don't want to allow the rip to grow.

Good luck in your HIM in 18 days!

Cheap wetsuit? I got a tear along a seam the first year I used mine but have not had a one since I started soaking it if I hadn't used it in over a month.

The thing is, it's a 2XU Elite E:0. I got it second hand but it was a $500 wetsuit when new and wasn't beat to death by the previous owner.

Holy cow, that's a nice suit. Guess it's not one of the cheaper ones. Dunno.
