Sounds like there are quite a few people doing the RAT this weekend. Who all is in and what are you aiming for as a pace? Shall we get some BT folks together for the 100?

I am signed up for the 62mile ride which was done before I bought a road bike about a week and half ago. I am now planning on doing the RAT 100. This will be the first time riding 100 miles straight, not sure what to expect, I only hope for something around an avg of 17mph.

Also, to the people that might be coming up from downstate, I am able to get a deal at the resort for about 67/night, let me know if I can help out.

I am interested in riding the RAT this year and I'm looking to share a ride (read split gas costs, my car or yours) from the Metro Detroit or Lansing areas but i can't leave until about 6pm on Saturday evening.

I know its a long shot but i figured i'd post up.

Thanks,
Mike

I'm heading up to meet some friends and do the century. I hope to run afterwards as well since I need the training. Smile

100 for me.

Pace?  I'm not sure, maybe about 18-20, I'm soley going for completion.  I'll probably stick by GirlGoin'Long, so however fast she goes.  But I know the climbs are potentially brutal.  Anyone ever do this ride before?

GirlGoin'Long and I are driving up late Saturday night.

Does anyone know how many food stops are on the 100 mile route and if the course and/or food stops are mileage marked?

Thanks

Keep your eyes open for me on a white Allez wearing plaid/black shorts and an old white/gray Greyhounds and Atwater Jersey. The finance will be on a pretty black/red Redline with red tires and our friend John on a battleship gray Kona Jake. My car will also be easy to spot, silver Vibe with trays on top and a hitch mount on the back. There will be a nice silver Allez Elite on top with a for sale sign.

See you tomorrow folks!

Had fun riding with Glen, his fiance and their friend John. I think RAT tried to hit every single hill on the east side of torch lake Laughing. Talk about a ride, one heck of a good time, only issue I had was coming down on some of those hills, the markings on the road were what seemed 20ft from the turn. Other then that, I think it was pretty well put together.

now off to try and run 4 miles... we'll see about this.

RAT ride ruled! There is nothing like those hills in south east Michigan. Lodac definately generates some serous watts as well. Him and my Finace were doing most of the work today.

Scenic overlook and cow pics to come.
