Somewhere between yesterday before noon and this morning, Old Sauk Pass has a fresh new layer of gravel on it.  Not sure what they are planning to do with it since the road is not in really bad shape, but thought I would pass it along to anyone thinking of biking the loop today.

There is also a sign indicating that Mound View is closed to thru traffic, but that does not affect the loop.

I didn't drive all the way down the hill, but I can do that in the morning to give everyone a heads up on the conditions.  After riding the loop again yesterday, I would say there are more roads that NEED work, than don't.  Also as an FYI, the drivers on KP are getting ultra testy.  A gravel truck ran me off the road yesterday and then gave me the finger.

If you were able to get a License plate number...    Police should be involved.

Unfortunately, I didn't.  I was too busy trying to navigate through the gravel and into the grass!  I looked up just in time to see the passenger finger come out the window.

I just went on that route this afternoon and was surprised when I turned off Old Sauk Road and saw a nice lil thick layer of gravel on Old Sauk Pass. I decided to just go the opposite way and ride on the "fresh roads". Is it me or do alot of those country roads seem to be in worse shape this year. This was one of my first times riding in Madison and I dont remember roads just outside of Madison and Middleton being that bad.
