Use these tough workouts now as mental training - learn to love the pain, and if nothing else, think of how much better you feel when you finish.
I've always thought that (in any area of life ), one reason why really tough things are so worthwhile is that the relief you feel after finishing is always proportional to the difficulty of the task.
