Swim
Comments: Swimming in the salt water with a wetsuit felt like being a rubber ducky! All i had to do was move my arms/rotate. My googles didn't leak or fog up, and I was able to see the bouys pretty much the whole course. The taste of salt water did eventually make me want to gag, but besides that I got a very good impression on ocean swimming. I could see the bottom almost the whole time. So much better than tempe town lake. What would you do differently?: better lube up my neck to avoid chafing. Also, a sleeveless wet suit would have been nice. And I should have brought water down to the beach to drink before my wave. Transition 1
Bike
What would you do differently?: Carry more gu's. i dropped my 3rd gu before i got it in my mouth. Also, know thy course, but they didn't exactly provide us with maps. Transition 2
What would you do differently?: Would have helped to have something to drink at this transition... (Gatorade) Run
Comments: I really need to work on having endurance for this part of the run. All I could give it was run 3-4 min, walk 1... I was exhausted. What would you do differently?: Maybe loosen up more on the bike... Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Novice ability on the bike and swim - not enough energy for the run. Event comments: My first olympic triathlon - a good challenging race and a barrel of fun. Except for the run. Last updated: 2005-01-12 12:00 AM

I was quite nervous about the ocean swim even though it was so calm out. I picked up my chip, set up my transition, got body marked, had some water...
