I cannot find a slick to fit my 26x2.10 mountain bike tire.  Instead of spending a lot of money for another bike someone suggested I try slicks.  Does anyone know where I can get some to fit?

When you get them you will be amazed.  19 years ago I did Centuries with my hybrid and knobby tires.  When I decided to do Sprint Tris I changed to slicks after the first one...Big difference.

Maxxis Xenith - http://www.maxxis.com/Bicycle/Hybrid/Xenith-15.aspx

I have these guys on my mountain bike (my wife uses the MB for tri's) and they work great on the road and can take 80psi.

I picked them up on Jensonusa.com for $25/ea.

I currently have a set of Geax Street Runners on my mountain bike and love them.  They'll take up to 100 psi (according the the sidewall).

Hope this doesn't sound too stupid...If my bike has a 26 x 2.10 tire on it now i can still put like a 26 x 1.5?

Yes. Tire will fit but check the size (width) range of your tube to make sure it fits 1.5.

Yes, it will fit just fine and a good question. 26 is the tire diameter and 2.10 (or 1.5) is the tire width.  As previously mentioned, make sure the tube is the correct size. It might be OK or just buy new tubes with the slicks.
Generally, a narrower tire will help reduce rolling resistance.

Good luck in  your race.

Definitely check out your LBS.  I just went in my LTS (Local Tri Shop) yesterday to get my derailleur tuned up and ordered 1.5" slicks for my mountain bike while I was there, no problem.  As for your other question, you'll most likely need new tubes as well.  Don't worry though - they're pretty inexpensive.

Thanks to all who helped with my previous post.  I finished my first sprint triathlon this weekend in 58 minutes.  It may not be the best time in the world, but at least I made it to the finish line.

Yep, LBS or LTS should have them, no problem.  I just got some 1.5" slicks and tubes for my mountain bike and love them.

AWESOME time on the sprint, especially with a mountain bike!  I'm doing a 400m swim, 12.2 mile bike, 3 mile run Monday night and just pray to come in not to far behind the second-to-last person. ;-(I'm a little undertrained but it's the last local one of the season and wanted to get in my first before going to work in the off-season.)
