Swim
Comments: First tri swim in a river. Spent to much energy fighting the current. The first leg going across the river the current pushed most everyone downstream and we had to swim back upstream to round the 2nd bouy. What would you do differently?: Sight better and "play" the current. Transition 1
Comments: Long run uphill from the river to T1. I felt I had a good T1.Lots of people were sitting down to get their breath due to the run uphill from the river exit. What would you do differently?: Not much I could have done better. Bike
Comments: I gave the bike everything I had. What would you do differently?: I didn't know the conditions would be windy due to maybe the morning thunderstorms. I wouldn't have used my solid rear disc had I known it was going to be windy. Transition 2
Comments: I forgot my headband and had to run about 10 yards back to get it. Otherwise, I felt T2 was fine. Run
Comments: This was a new course, so I wasn't prepared for the hills. Cramps we trying to make themselves known, but never "kicked in." Thank goodness! I drank water on the bike portion and water at the aid stations on the run. What would you do differently?: Eat more "Sport Legs" at the end of the bike portion. Post race
Warm down: Walked around to get my breath from sprinting at the finish. Drank water and walked more for a cool-down. Then headed straight for the food tent! What limited your ability to perform faster: Not being prepared for the current in the river. Having a solid disc rear wheel on the bike with the wind. Not ready for the hills on the run. Event comments: Team-Magic.com always puts on a great race. The swim start was delayed by perhaps this was the first race in this venue.
