I thought you couldn't get any outside help after they close the transition area and the race starts. I don't know why I thought that. My last race had 5 waves 5 minutes apart and I was in the last one. I stood in ankle deep water in the freezing rain for 30 minutes. Could I have worn rain gear then gave it to my wife a few minutes before my wave started?



So... What are the "rules" during the wait time? Are there any? Everybody was just standing there waiting.


I think it's once your race starts. I always hang out with my wonderful wife, my sherpa for life. We watch the early waves, play the "guess their age" game, and I hand stuff off before I go in the water.
