I agree!

I have been trying to postpone my run's this week because I can't do it early in the morning and finally had to go earlier today.  First 3 miles was OK, but the next 3 was soooooo difficult!!

What? You guys aren't training in the heat? :-)

This is a perfect opportunity to get some heat acclimation training in. I did my long run yesterday. Yeah, it took a lot longer but I felt good for it. Remember, you can't choose the weather at the race so you have to be ready for anything.

I totally agree. I've done a couple of warm weather races this year and will do another in September so you are right this is good acclimation practice. The only problem I've had with the heat is that some really nasty stuff is starting to appear in the lake. Live little creatures that look like giant versions of what you would see under a microscope. I try not to think about it as I take in a mouthful of water while breathing.

The heat doesnt bother me having grown up in spokane. My only concern with it is no A/C for my dogs inside. Our house reached about 96 yesterday ever with all the fans going we could manage. My wife basically put the dogs in the car and drove around to a couple of different lakes letting them splash and cool off before picking me up from work and heading to seward park. My oldest dog (the one in my profile pic) stays slightly too hot at night so we have been putting some ice pack around her to help keep her core cooler and it has worked really well.

oh yeah our thermometer recorded a high of 110 at our house yesterday (outside) so ummm, icky.

I agree with the acclimation training, but at 100+ I don't feel much like running, PERIOD!!

I can do it, and I would if I had to in a race, but when I am sweating just folding laundry, it makes it difficult to run.

Swimming, totally different, not an issue
Riding not quite so bad, but running is difficult at those temps.

On the other hand, I don't mind running in the rain or cold, but prefer not to on my bike if possible.
