Subject: Sunscreen and risk for Wetsuit

Hi all,

On Sunday I will race in pretty sunny weather (which is a kind of surprise given the weather so far this summer).

I wonder if there is any risk for my wetsuit if I apply a lot of sunscreen before the swim.

I don't feel like losing one arm of the wetsuit in the middle of the swim :-)

Take care

At a HIM, I put on the waterproof/sweatproof stuff in transition that morning, then put some more on after the bike.  Worked fine (except I forgot to put any on my legs all day).  I'd put on the lotion stuff first at the very least.  I had some of that aerosol sunscreen once while out in a boat.  I guess leaning back against the rails rubbed some off because I had this line across my back that turned dark crimson.  The wetsuit might rub some of the aerosol off.

Oh, and I'm so pale I'm almost transparent.  So if the lotion survived the wetsuit and kept the sun off me for 56 miles, then it ought to work for ya.

Wow, that's interesting to read

Check out body glide with sun screen. It's made to be put on under a wetsuit and it's got SPF up to 30 in it.
