Last year I finished IM Lake Placid, took this year off of long stuff (only a few sprints) due to my wedding and a couple surgeries. I would like to race IM Florida 2010 and am considering volunteering. Do volunteers get any advantage at the on-site registrations or do you go on Monday morning with everyone else there? Thanks
I just registered for IMLP 2010 as a volunteer and we had a special line. Once all the volunteers were through, they started the regular line. It was definitely an advantage. I still had to wait in line for about 1.5 hrs but I didn't get there til shortly after 9am and there were people in the "regular" line who had apparently been camping out since 4am. I registered before them. I assume Florida is the same, so I would definitely volunteer. It was fun too!
