For anyone looking for an open water swim, this is a great group organized by Concourse Tri Club.  It's open to anyone, they just ask you to sign a waiver and drop a few bucks into the 'tip jar' for the people who are in the kayaks.   

Also, ALL levels welcome- last time there were beginners up to people building for an IM.

Just a quick clarification - the subject says 8/8 but the body of the email says next Saturday.  Which is it??  Thanks!!

Oops, the Concourse Tri Club is doing their swim on the 15th, not sure why I got confused about the 8th.  I'm still planning on swimming there this weekend the 8th though...it just won't be a huge group like I described above.

Last time I swam with this group there were people doing ALL distances. There were beginners who stayed very close to the shore and a dozen or so that were seasoned Ironmen doing 2.4mi.  My plan is 2.4 and they've mapped out the loop so I'm pretty sure it's close to accurate.  Plus, the kayaks are watching the short loops and the swimmers that swim farther out...

I am thinking... I am in. I need to swim 45 minutes, but I'm supposed to swim at the race site up in Tennessee for Sunday's race. Who wants to swim 45 minutes at 3-5 PM the day before a race? Not I! I might even talk the wifey into coming with me. That would be cool....
