Subject: Help!! Taper or Rest First Tri on Sunday!
Hey everyone, quick question regarding training.  I would use today as a taper day, however my ankle/foot is bothering me a bit I would say its about 85-90%.
The question is should I train today or just take today through the race (sunday) off.

I'm doing my first tri on Sunday, too, so I'm far from tri experienced but I would think you should take the day off or go light on the foot, i.e., swim and/or bike but no run.  I have knee issues so I know where you're coming from in trying to make this decision.  I've made it myself a few times along the way.  However, it's your first tri so you're not going for a PR and one extra day of training on a questionable foot is likely not going to make a difference.  Extra rest/going easy could. GL!

If you've got ankle/foot pain, I'd definitely take it easy until the race. You're not going to gain any fitness between now and Sunday. You can only hurt yourself (more) at this stage.

When in doubt, leave it out.
