Just wanted to say hi from London KY, since there's not that many events in SE of KY, so I'm thinking I'm going to change my profile to TN so that the TN thread will come up instead. 

On a different note, I went to Cades Cove this weekend and loved it!  I saw ppl biking everywhere and everywhere I stopped to ask for directions, the ppl were very friendly and outright funny!  We even talked about considering moving to TN because its beautiful and the ppl are so nice.

Did you bike the 11 mile loop? The park has rental bikes, single speeds (junque!) and the wife and I did it on them a few years ago. I think they are the same bikes we rented when I was a kid!  We took our own bikes a couple of years ago and did the loop with our kiddos. If you do, the weekend traffic can be pretty intense. Also, if you bring an expensive bike, you'll wind up walking it up to many of the cabins that you want to visit - i.e. you wouldn't want to leave a four-figure bike 1/4 mile or more away.

Yes!  The 11 mile loop was wonderful.... too many ppl though traveling through.  Wish they made a bike lane on there.  I saw ppl on bikes and was wondering why there were so many but now I know you can rent them... thanks for the info.  Also, coming out of the park, there is a 7 mile down hill ride that goes along a bubbling creek and under a tunnel.  Wonderful!  I can't wait to go back now.

Cades Cove is a beautiful area and you will even see a bear or two..... Middle Tn doesn't have the mountains but still has wonderful people and rolling terrain.

They close the roads for hiking and bike only rides on Wednesday and Saturday mornings in the summer.
