I'm in. I ride and run that bridge at least once a day and swim at the beach. I think this is going to be a fun race. I like the routes thru downtown and along the  intracostal.

I'm in. Last year the race was OK. It is close to my house so will be doing again. They have such a great ride along AIA they could use and instead the bike in along unscenic US-1 unless they changed it this year. The run is alright, but again nothing to brag about or compare to Loggerhead IMHO. See you all there.

Just registered.  This will be my 2nd race.  Was planning on racing 'escape', but this is much closer and easier for me...

Does anyone have more detail on the race?  Actual course maps?

Thanks,

Mark

This is going to be my first triathlon. I'm very excited and anxious at the same time. I don’t know what to expect or if I’m ready for it but here I go, I'll do my best and hope to finish it!

No worries, you will have fun. Dont even worry about the time in your first event, just enjoy it! This is a fun race and a small field which means less crowding in the transition areas and on the swim. Both great news for 1st timers. The volunteers are great and you will be very proud at the finish. Start thinking about your 2nd race, you will want to sign up soon after thsi weekend.

Good luck!

Let's all hope for calm seas this week-end. I went out yesterday AM and it was like swimming in a washing machine. I'm not mentioning it to freak anyone out, but just as a heads up. THe good news is that the current was ripping north so when you're swimming with the current you fly.By the way, has anyone seen any details about the start? Swim waves & start times? The city's website sez packet pick-up is Saturday from 4 to 8 at the beach. Other than that I can't find any other details about race day.

I wonder how they will do the swim? Will it be all with the current or a down and back thing? A couple of hundred meters against a stiff current would be exciting!Surprised

My buddy said they usually do the swim from N to S which ordinarily is against the current. I swam midtown beach on Palm Beach this AM and the water was pretty clear and the current was mild. I think we'll have nice conditions for the swim tomorrow too, but I do hope we get to go North.

I just picked up my package # 393 , It looks like we are gonna be swimming North to South by the looks of the set up.. so i guess we have to wait and see what the current does..

Again good luck to all...

# 48 tomorrow... Either way, we are all swimming the same course no matter which way the current takes us. Although I prefer a ripping current at my back any day. Ocen was calm this morning and should be tomorrow too. Wind will fade tonight... Go clydes and wave 3!

Good luck all.

Just got home- what a great race! I really had a lot of fun. The swim and bike seemed longer than I expected though- after the bike my computer said 12.35 miles! I didn't think it was that far off. Oh well, I had a good time anyway.Smile

Yeah, I had a good time too.  I measured the swim at 600 yards and the bike was over 12 for sure.

I saw that a gal wrecked pretty hard just before the 18th Street turnaround.  I hope she's ok.

Alright, that current was tough. I think at least a 3-4 minute difference. The Bike was long and I had it @ 12.4. The run seemed short though (no complaints). I would be suprised if it wasn't about 2.8 or 2.9. How nice was the overcast weather though? We got lucky there. Fun race and since it is local, I will be back every year. Glad to hear everyone had good time out there.
