Is anyone planning on doing the Waterloo Fit City Tri, August 29th?  Wondering if there are still openings and if anyone has done this tri in the past.  It would be nice as it is really close to home.

I think Robert's wife was talking about this one. It has a pool swim, yes? That's about all I know about it.

This is the first year for this tri.  I believe they had a 200 signup cutoff for the Adults, but unlimited for kids.

It starts with a pool swim in the Waterloo H.S.

I have both of my older boys doing the kids' tri.  I may volunteer, but haven't decided.  I live only 4 miles down the road from the H.S.

That had a meeting at the Waterloo Public Library last night for participating and volunteer signup.  Stupid thing is that the local paper came out on the day of that announcement indicating that night's signup.

Okay, signed up last night at the last second - they had slots open at the time.  This'll be my first sprint - eh verrrr.

It's cold, windy, and cloudy out right now.  IDEAL CONDITIONS!

Well, for my first sprint, I don't think I did that bad - 1:26:54.  My swim, as always, sucked.

Well, I needed to toot my horn and give a shoutout to my eldest boy, "Razor", for taking FIRST PLACE in his age group!!

Another BTer by the name of "awseverson" took first in his age group!  And he lives a few miles down the road from me, so we talked some.  Great job!!!

I won a $10 Bath and Bodyworks gift card.  I guess I need to get some extra soap and clean myself up.

Ah what an appropriate prize for you.

That's some good work by your son, too.
